New Members:
Please help me welcome our newest members from Union Pacific, Lincoln Financial Group and Brightmix, who were in attendance at yesterday's meeting:
Jason
Leanne
Travis
Kevin
Erin
Andy
Building our membership numbers is an ongoing activity. If you know of others who would like to participate in our group, please let them know about us! I've attached an email template for your modification and use to promote UGO to your friends and colleagues. Anyone can join our group, and all members have access to the "invite members" link through the UGO Google Group site itself.
Recommended Presentation:
Our discussions were so lively at yesterday's meeting that we did not have the opportunity to watch the podcast and slideshow as originally announced - for those of you who are interested in viewing it on your own, it can be found at
http://www.boxesandarrows.com/view/ia-summit-2008-day-1 (it's the second to last presentation on the page). The downloaded audio can be listened to using QuickTime.
From the IA Summit 2008 (Miami, FL): "How to be a User Experience Team of One" by Leah Buley of Adaptive Path - Leah teaches techniques that any individual can use to generate and refine ideas, outlining flexible, simple activities that can be used quickly, wherever they're needed. Published 05/06/08.
Upcoming Meetings:
Future meetings will be planned for every other month, with the next one expected to be held in September. As our next meeting topic, we will be reviewing an application and its design challenges together; the location and exact date are still to be determined.
For any future meeting, please drop me a quick note if you have:
- access to a venue (I'd like to rotate meetings between multiple locations, if possible)
- agenda topics you would like to see
- any other ideas to make these get-togethers, and/or our Google Group site, more beneficial to all
Resource Sharing:
I will be adding pages to the UGO Google Group to include a Reference Book list and RSS Feed list - feel free to not only reference these pages, but add to and edit the content to keep it accurate and up to date.
What Else?
I encourage you to continue to participate in our group's activities as much as your schedule allows, and please do not hesitate to share your comments and ideas. This is our collective UGO group, and we will get out of it what we put into it!
I hope to see you all at our next meeting in September! More details to follow as the date nears!
