Hi All......seasons greetings from the division of noncommunicable diseases;

We are calling for your support.....The No Empty Shelves Call to Action.......This has been a landscaping exercise carried out by PATH and MOH with the support from Novo on availability of diabetes commodities and essential technologies in kenya and senegal .

We are calling for action on 5 major agendas.....

1. We call on policy-makers in LMICs to integrate NCDs into activities to strengthen the health and supply systems in the public and private sectors,including strategies to achieve UHC.
   
2. We call on multilateral institutions and technical partners to build the evidence base to support policy and systems change.
   
3. We call on financial contributors to include and prioritize NCDs within programs that support strengthening of health systems, regulatory authorities and supply chains.
   
4. We call on advocates to engage civil society and join with people living with NCDs to advocate for continual access to affordable quality EMTs with their community leaders, policy makers and governments.
   
5. We call on the private sector to partner for solutions to address access to affordable, quality-assured EMTs in LMICs.
   

Nearly 75 individuals and organizations have signed onto the Call and we are overwhelmed by the positive response!

 

As we gear up for our formal launch on UHC Day--this Saturday, December 12--here are a few actions you can take to help us promote the Call now and in the coming days:

•  Sign up for the Thunderclap to spread our message far and wide across social media at9 am EST on Dec 12: https://www.thunderclap.it/projects/35387-no-empty-shelves-for-ncds?locale=en
  
•  Be sure to tweet your support starting as early as Friday, Dec 11 using both the Call to Action (#NoEmptyShelves) and UHC Day (#HealthForAll) hashtags. Here’s an example:

•  Share the Call to Action. Write a blog, post an announcement on your website, or send an email to your network.
