24th August 2009

Greetings,

I hope this letter finds you well. With permission from some of the elders I was asked to float this idea to you all and find out what your thoughts are on it. It has been ages since we had a Ugandan get together and we have a few ideas that could improve this situation.

Firstly I suggested to the elders that we could have a picnic afternoon at the Nairobi arboretum on Saturday September 5th from about 2:00pm. The idea was that you could come with your families and other Ugandan’s who are not on the mailing list so that we could get to know each other better.

It would also give an opportunity to those who are not on the mailing list to get registered, and also enable us to discuss some other ideas we had for more frequent meets.

The Nairobi Arboretum is a lovely place for a picnic and entrance there is free. You would only be required to pay Ksh 50 for parking. I would advise that you organize your picnic baskets and carry along drinks of your choice for that afternoon.

Let me know what your thoughts are on this. Remember is September 5th at the Nairobi Arboretum.

Kind regards,

Brenda Awori Z’ Obbo

So why have the girls become "kitu kidogos", and especially if used in the context of the language?  I find this demeaning and I am not sure I want to refer to any man that way.

Good time for everyone!

Brenda -fingers crossed I hope to join you depending on the ETA that day (season!!).
Otherwise I like the green theme (Aboretum).
Hope we shall have some good guided nature walks.

Jimmy,

Great Guys at least the numbers are building up. Lets all try and confirm by Monday 31st August so that I can make a few arrangements with Nairobi Arboretum management about where we can sit, a nature walk, toilets etc.
Stay well
