Totally agree with Bdut on this one. 

Would also recommend at least annual get-togethers around the holiday season so those of you out there who happen to be home can be part.  As things are now most of us only get to meet at CPDs. We should not only rally together because of unfortunate incidents like these. 

And Paakow Quayson you better check in when you finally get here.

     I call this the power of unity. Very impressive for a class with '?factionalism' and 'untouchables' and 'things'. Very good showing of solidarity. 53 out of 67 names, excluding Benoni comes close to 80%. I am blessed to be amongst this group. God richly bless all of us.

 On the issue of what to do with the donation, I share the feeling that we should give all to the family. We might cause unnecessary tensions if we come across as if we are commiting to lifelong care for the children. Best to have them deal with it themselves. I know if I heard somewhere that Sandra's child(or any of us' child) needed some help I would not hesitate to help if I have the means. 
 However, what I had like to suggest is some yearly dues of $100 that will be invested. Subsequently when these matters run into us, we can have a fixed sum to disburse. Lets face it, we are all pushing 40. Twenty years is not far off then comes retirement and funerals;) Yaw, lets keep updating our email list till it is complete, we can add phone numbers. The latter can be used for text messaging. Doesn't look like every one walks around with internet in their pocket like my roommate. After the halothane boozes him, he needs something to jack up his state of alertness.

Hope you had a good weekend. 

I have been asked by one of us to republish the contributions so far. 

Just to let you know that Roberta, Gordon Attoh and Yawbee went to visit Sandra's mum and husband yesterday. In fact the initial aim was to visit the mum but we were fortunate to meet the husband there. So you see we managed to kill two birds with one stone. I think Roberta will the be the best person to narrate what happened as women do better at that. 

What I can say is that from the husband the lil one in SA is  not doing too well. So please let us continue to pray for the family

Paa kow, you know I am nimble footed. I can dribble a pair of stitch scissors around that dread. You'll have to bring along the 'high' for me to loose my dexterity. 

 Class party! Count me in!!!!! Venue? Time? Children allowed? I have to think about my good friend Gbalo, his roommate and  the ultimately fecund Prince Ofosu-Mensah. 

 PK, all three boys I have mentioned are very 'serious'. They are highly fecund. Their wives( Thelma, Pia and Freda) are not any different. Show me your friend and I will show you your fecundity. Freda Ofosu-Mensah  is not our Freda for the sake of clarity. 

 That said, it is a very pleasant feeling hanging around electronically. I hope all feel this good about self and kindred.  I hang around you for 8yrs, pestering you with my convictions and perceptions.So a couple of pester-years shouldn't be too much to stomach.Time won't come back for me to find out why it was bliss being around you and all.

Sorry, one more thing. As we prepare to finally put our sister Sandra to rest, we should start thinking of how to keep together in the absence of a disaster. For a start, I suggest that if we are able to contribute in excess of the 10k goal, we use the excess to start a class fund. So please the last minute actors should not be discouraged.
