If you have Android phone you may know that creating Android themes is much harder than creating Nokia S40 themes.

I'm going to make theme for Tegro ROM, because I'm using this ROM. It's port of T-mobile MySlide 3G ROM (with is based on HTC Sense) for HTC Hero. I'll probalaby take some icons from ufurmix (not all are themeable), change coloristic from blue to red and that should be all.

I'll aslo be happy if someone port my theme to cynaogenmod.

But first thing I need to do is upgrade Tegro from 2.4.1 to 2.5 RC3.

I'm thinking about change to Cynaogenmod 6, because FPse (PSX Emulator) doesn't work with Android 2.1 and earlier.

I actually looked into it. But they seemed not to have a rom for mine. :(

Hi all. I was wondering, remember the window themes for 9.10 beta? the one with the scratch for close and the paws for minimize and maximize...what ever happened to those. ive noticed they just disapeared. and are no longer used. whats the deal that was one of my favorite tweaks. and is there a way I can convert the 9.10 version of that theme to work on luckid? thanks

Also what about the loading screen for 9.10? its gone too. the one where the walking paw prints across the screen. I always liked that too. and now its gone Sad smile seems like every new version we release is actually LESS furry themed. whats with that? I am however happy to see that my screen server was included with lucid release ^_^

I do not like lucid.
its hardly furry at all. yall did away with the themes. the loading screen for login. and the boot logo doesn’t even show half the time. old theme packages are incompatible with lucid so I cant just import the 9.4 beta themes to lucid like I did with 9.10 when the themes were ommited from beta the first time. and its just nothing like it was back in 9.4 im actually deleting lucid and going back to 9.10.
I think we need to work on the OS and th interface rather than “android themes” sorry for the rant but...im just really not happy with the lucid release of furmix.

I agree that it would be nice to port the 9.10 boot screen to Plymouth. It's not difficult and we have a very good manual, but nobody did it yet for some mysterious reason. The boot logo is not shown half of the time and on half of the machines, but it's a shortcoming of Plymouth (boot screen engine) used in Ubuntu and replacing it would cause unpredictable consequences. I absolutely agree that USplash would be much better for Ubuntu's splash.

Lucid got a new icon theme, with an extra-furry version. To enable it, opening appearance properties, choose a theme, click "customize" and choose ufurmix-extra-mono-[light or dark]. The icon theme from 9.10 also got furrier and it's included in the distro.

You still can install those ancient themes in Lucid, just drag-and-drop the .tar.gz's attached to appearance properties window. We had plans (an idea, to be exact) to port those buttons to Ambiance, see https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ufurmix/+spec/furry-window-buttons, but have ported only the paw button and nobody else participated. You can get the source SVGs at http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~shnatsel/ufurmix/karmic/files/head:/Themes/Stuff/
By the way, Xorrito had a nice Emerald theme with those buttons, but I have only a screenshot of it: http://db.tt/eQOWKl1

On the other hand, we're not as late with Lucid as it we were with 9.10, and we can update the image with extra stuff later because it's LTS. And finally we have an OS that can be used as primary!

By the way, did you make any new furry hardware mods?

ahh okay... ill look into porting some of that stuff over. abd as a matter of fact i did make 2 new hardware mods... a Sublevel03 themed xbox 360, and a pawprint mod on my newest netbook....these newer machines are getting harder to mod since half of it is assembled with double sided tape. but yes ill mail some pics of the mods soon when i get back home, greetings from furry fiesta!!! ^_^
and sorry about being such an ass in my last message. i had been trying to get the themes to work and got really frusterated after a few hours, but im back running on 9.10 for now. since i know its architecture a bit better...

Don't try to make something work for a few hours, just ask me ;) I'm still the tech head in here, most likely I know a solution.

Be warned that 9.10 will become unsupported after 11.04 release (in 2 months), it means that you won't receive any updates and won't be able to install software.

I've tried to port the "close" button to Ambiance.
Raster: http://ubuntuone.com/p/eh1/
SVG source: http://ubuntuone.com/p/egu/

Paw button
Raster: http://ubuntuone.com/p/eh2/
SVG source: http://ubuntuone.com/p/5S7/
This one has too much contrast, I'll have to do something about it.

A screenshot of these buttons in action is attached.

Note that you won't be able to reproduce the raster from SVG source because I use some kind of super-secret exact rendering algorithm ;)

Another iteration of this thing.
I'm afraid I won't be able to finish this work, is anybody willing to take up where I left? I'll reveal the rendering algorithm to the one who undertakes it.

I totally understand. The thing with the bootscreen is the fact that they changed from xsplash to plymouth. We tried to port the theme but ended up doing an aproach more like the one we had in usplash (btw Shnatsel did most to all the work, i'll i did was give big ideas and beta test.) As of the gtk theme, i am not too sure what happen there.....well once i get out of school ill squeese some time for this awesome project. For now i cant do much.
Regards.
