SUBJECT: UNUSUAL SIGHTING
26/1735Z EMPRESS 381 reported a large balloon in close proximity.
ATC had no info on any balloons in the area.
26/1739Z EMPRESS 381 stated balloon was approx 200 ft. in diameter
and approx. 3 miles from aircraft. Position: 7100N - 6000W.
26/1741Z EMPRESS 381 advised that it was not a balloon because it
had been paralleling their course for 5 to 6 minutes. Course 260
degrees, altitude 31,000 ft., position 7034N - 6818W, speed 500 knots.
EMPRESS 381 reported two pictures were taken with small camera.
