Hello uFlashers,

I know many/most/all of you have expanded your tech interests: native mobile, HTML5, games, etc. However, there are still companies looking for Flash talent either with smaller side projects or full-time contract, and they ask me for referrals. If you'd like to be referred for this kind of work please let me know directly and I'll bring these kind of jobs to your attention.

This will be a better approach than my spamming a list of mostly non-Flashers every time a job offer comes along. That being said, if you have a job posting (you're looking for Flash talent), don't feel that you can't post it here - this is still uFlash after all. But when I'm asked for talent I'll be more selective to those who ask for it directly.

I hope everyone is making lots of money and becoming successful native/html/gaming/etc experts!

All the best,
Tyler Wright

on that vein, there is a very good chance I'll be needing a fair bit of Flash dev work in the next while. I have a few contacts that I'll check with, but it never hurts to know of more. This would be low-to-mid-range Flash work, as far as complexity. AS3, but "rockstar" status is not needed.

thanks,

Hi Michael, I'm moving on to Android and just finished making a website with Adobe Edge (Animate)...pretty fun stuff!  But, I still like doing some Flash work now and then.

Anyway, thanks for replying to this list and please remember me if something comes up! :)

Thanks and hope all is well!

Hi Michael,

We've done some work together in the past. I thought I would let you know that I am still doing Flash, including mobile exports to iOS and Android using AIR. I can also do projects that use the Starling  framework if you have something that graphically intensive and needs to run at higher speeds.

Thanks,
Tom Beatty

Tom is also good at picking fights at Games in HTML5 meetings. Everyone knows that Flash is dead, it's a plugin and must be installed (plugins and non-standard CSS are inherently evil of course), and that nothing complex could ever really be built in Flash.

Additionally if you scoff at IE 6-8 enough, it means that no one really uses those browsers. I think.

Way to represent, Tom! I still do Flash too - it's the best tool for game UI, thanks to Scaleform.

Tyler,

I was only outnumbered 40 to 1 and I do appreciate you coming to my aid in that one. I can't wait for the next meeting. Perhaps I should offer to present on Stage3D:)

I'll be a lot of those guys have done Flash and would appreciate an update on Flash gaming, which is still extremely viable for indie dev.

The meeting we went to was the monthly (or so) Utah Indie Games meeting. For those interested in building your own games it's a place to demo your games to other devs and get feedback. It can be interesting sometimes and I would recommend attending at least once to see if you like it.
