Greyson, Greg, and I have been working on a new game jam event to supplement global game jam and other community events throughout the year. This new game jam will be called Utah Indie Game Jam and the first year it is planned to take place in August at Neumont University at their new location downtown after they move. Unlike Global Game Jam, this will be more competitive with judges and prizes. However a spirit of community and sportsmanship is still encouraged. There will be a theme at the beginning and your development skills will be put to the test to win prizes at the end of the 48 hour weekend event. This will not only be a chance to make what you want to make and polish your skills- you will also get your work in front of industry veterans to help take your skills to the next level. Invite friends to make a team or come and join one at the event! We are still working out details (any volunteers willing to help us find sponsors?), and there will be more announcements as we get closer, but here are some things to help you plan for it in advance:
Where: Neumont University
When: August 16th -18th, Friday evening to Sunday evening
RSVP: Send an email to utahindi...@gmail.com so we can plan accordingly!
