HEALTH POINTS!
Hello there fellow HEALers, here is the current numbers for Health Points!
If you have any questions, email Nhi at secreta...@gmail.com.
HEAL's Test Bank
This year we have revived the test bank resource for our members and it is ready to go!

Click on the following link to view the available resources:
IMPORTANT :
1) You must have at least 15 HPs (health points) to be able to access the resources. Then it is free for you to access.
2) You get +4 HPs for donating to the test bank (smoking notes, study edge packets, tz packets, etc.) and -2 HPs per week if it is returned after the due date (which is next GBM).
3) TO ACCESS: After seeing which resource you want, email me at resourc...@gmail.com. They will only be disbursed during general body meetings so PLAN IN ADVANCE! You must notify me at least 2 days before the GBM. First come first serve.
4) TO RETURN: You must bring the resource back in the next GBM or earlier at any HEAL event (social, volunteering, etc. but you must contact me to see if I will be there).
5) Only one resource per person can be checked out at one time.
P.S.: Have any exams or course materials that you CAN'T WAIT to get rid of??? Give them to Sonia Dela Cruz, your Public Relations and Resources Officer, and all of HEAL will benefit! You can contact her at resourc...@gmail.com.
Confessions of a HEAL Officer!
My Plans for Valentine's Day
Valentine's Day falls on a Thursday this year, and as for me, my Thursdays are always busy. As hard as it may seem to believe, it is no secret that I am a single, handsome guy (you can check my Facebook status). So my plan for Valentine's Day is to have NO PLAN. Single guys have it easy. They can flirt around and not get in trouble. They don't have to spend money to impress their girls. They just go with the flow. I like it that way because it is less stressful.
However, if I did have a girlfriend, this is what I would have done for her on Valentine's Day. I would take my girlfriend to a fancy restaurant like Dragonfly in downtown Gainesville. Girls like the opportunity to pretty themselves up so that their boyfriend would notice them and think to himself, "Wow, I can't believe this girl is dating me." Then I would take her to down by Paynes Prairie so we can gaze at the stars together and hopefully catch a shooting star. Moments like that allow the couple to really open up to each other and just enjoy each others company. After the romantics are over, I would take her home, dress down to my house clothes, and make dessert with her at my apartment. We would cuddle up next to the TV, eating our brownies, and watching something we both enjoy. Valentine's Day doesn't have to mean extravagant spending. As long as you show her  that you truly care about her and that this day was made for the two of us.
So, for me, this year on Valentine's Day, I will be spending my time at the library, studying for an exam. Maybe next year, I will be able to show someone how much I truly care about her.

Who will be my Valentine?
It's almost Valentine’s Day HEALERS and you know what that means!  It’s time to get yourself a valentine if you don’t already have one.  You are in for a treat, because I'm going to tell you who my valentine is going to be this year! Drum roll please....... It's the HEAL Eboard!  I am so happy to have spent such a great year with this eboard. We have had so many memories that will last a lifetime.  From our officer retreats to Orlando last semester to our most recent retreat to Tampa, I have gotten to know all of my fellow officers and man are they deserving of this valentine.  All of the officers have spent considerable time and effort to have a successful year.  Not only have we carried on the tradition of excellence in our club but we have reached new frontiers this year.  We organized HEAL's first mission trip, started up a new newsletter(that you are reading right now), designed a new shirt, created HEALs first twitter account and instagram account, and started concessioning at football games!  Through it all, this eboard as continued to be a tight knit group.  I can honestly say that I have been enriched in life by knowing each and every one of them.  I want to especially acknowledge our two senior eboard members in our President Nga Doan and Internal Affairs Lian Valdez.  They will be sadly leaving us next year but their futures are bright and I want to thank them for their time in HEAL.  We have grown so much in the past year, and this is why I want to give my special valentine to all of my fellow Eboard members.

Awkward Turtle
Hey guys! My name is Leon Chen and I am the External Affairs of HEAL. I think most of you guys know me as a troll, but I personally think of myself as a turtle, an AWKWARD turtle. To strangers, I am very quiet to be honest, most people might say I have a monotone voice (which is true). Sometimes I am hard headed because I will fight for something I truly believe and I do snap back sometimes. I think one misconception that people think is that I am depressed (I'm not). I just don't really show my emotions a lot and I don't get a lot of sleep because I have mild insomnia.  But under this hard shell, I am a really soft and outgoing guy. People also say I walk slow and I do have my dumb moments once in a while, just a turtle wiggling on its shell upside down. If I troll you, that means I am comfortable around you. Besides that, I guess I can tell you some of my interests.

UF College of Dentistry offers 3-week pre-dental summer program

Are you pre-dental? Interested in learning more about the dental profession and becoming a stronger dental school applicant? Are you considered a minority or economically or educationally disadvantaged?

Applications for the Summer Learning Program (SLP) 2013 at the University of Florida College of Dentistry have been released and can be found at http://dental.ufl.edu/education/dmd-program/student-multicultural-affairs/outreach-programs/summer-learning-program/.
