I am trying to follow your instructions for quick find. I cannot come
up with "rufous-sided Towhee". I have even checked the listings
directly. Can it be that this bird name is not in the List?

This is a problem with multiple common names. The ufg application is
capable of displaying up to 8 common names per species. However, I
intentionally didn't transfer the alternate common names in the class
database when the AOU last updated its list because it isn't clear
that enough people use the feature to warrant the work of transferring
the common names (which is not yet automated). If users want this
feature enabled, they should let me know. So far, you are the first
to mention anything about the lack of alternate common names.

The AOU's common name for the Rufous-sided Towhee is the Eastern
Towhee.

I don’t think I need it. I only picked it up when I was following your
example in the manual

Rather than change the manual, I added Rufous-sided Towhee as an
alternate name to the classification database (i.e., class.pdb).

If anyone has an alternate name they want included, let me know.
(Also tell me the etymology of the common name, as that is required in
the database for each alternate name.)
