how do i get bna on to my SD card...  when i read my SD card,  BNA is not listed. what do i need on my SD card to be able to run BNA on a palm E2.
i have been following all the post on email...  and have no clew as to what i need, where it should be, or how to get it.

is there a list  of the data (apps, files, data) somewhere that says what is needed, where it should be, and how to get it.

where is the info on how to run filezilla, what goes in the boxes across the top of the app.

i think UFG is about the most difficult program i have ever run across.  its like... here is all that you need, but we are not sure we want you to use it.

Hi John,

There's a "getting started" overview at http://eduneer.com and there's
more detailed setup instructions in the manual at http://eduneer.com/ufg/ufgpau.pdf

I suppose it is possible to determine the necessary setup of the birds
of North America multimedia by reading the posts in this group, but
that would be like learning how to drive by reading accident
reports. :*)

I think the four text fields (i.e., host, username, password, port)
across the top of the FileZilla are a relatively new addition to
FileZilla. In fact, I hadn't noticed them until I looked after
reading your question. I think they are intended for users who
frequently switch between a lot of FTP sites. I don't use those four
text fields, and you can remove them by unchecking the 'View/
Quickconnect bar' menu item. I think the FileZilla instructions
included in the download instructions at http://eduneer.com/ufg/download_instructions.pdf
are complete.

There is an option of getting a preloaded SD card, with which the
setup consists of inserting the card. However, I encourage people to
setup their own SD card for a variety of reasons. In addition to
saving money, setting up your own SD card gives you control of what
field guide information gets included. The field guide application is
just a framework and I am hoping that there will soon be other sources
of field guide content.

Greg...

i have an early version of ufg on my SD card and i am trying to update.

i have printed the download instructions and followed them to the
letter. when i hit the connect bullet, in filezilla, all i get is
"error 530".

i have been work on this update for as long as its been out, and
CANNOT get the update.

in your answer you state that a preloaded SD card is available. if so
where??? i can't find a sight that has it.

i may be a dumb ass, but something is not falling into place, that
allows me to update

i need a little help...

Hi John,

I can get FileZilla to report error "530 - Your FTP session could not
be opened" by entering an incorrect password. However, I'm not sure
that is the problem you are having. I checked a previous email where
you mentioned you are using a Mac. Are you running the FileZilla
application on a Mac?

To answer your question, the preloaded SD card is the last option
listed at http://eduneer.com/topic_mm.html. However if you are using
a PC, I am quite sure I could step you through the download and setup
process. If you are using a Mac, perhaps another member of the group
can help but I can't.

i am using both a mac intel G5 and a IBM laptop. i am running
Filezilla on both and get the same "error 530".

your reply said that has to do with the pass word. in the download
instructions, the set up for filezilla says to set the password to...xx.

i entered all the info into site manager as per the instructions.

nothing works, on either the mac or the IBM

i have placed an order for a preloaded SD card... maybe things will
work better when it comes.

thanks

Hi John,

Perhaps I should have used "??" instead of "XX". The "XX" user name
and password in the download instructions on line are place holders
for the actual user name and password in the download instructions you
receive by email. As described in the download instructions,
"Typically within one business day after you submit your order, you
should
receive FTP download instructions from eduneer.com in an email similar
to the following, except with the actual user name and password:"

You received those download instructions on 11 July. If you can get
FileZilla to connect to the FTP server, I'll recreate your download
directory (I haven't checked but I suspect, after three months, your
initially created download directory has been deleted from the FTP
server).

Hi John,

Glad to hear you were able to download the multimedia.

I've updated the online download instructions to remove the source of
confusion about the download password. Now, the online document's
place holder for the actual password is "<your password>" rather than
"XX". Thanks for reporting the problem.

Greg...

i have downloaded the update and installed ufg to my SD card.

the only thing that seems to work is audio... i can't get any
pictures. i have looked in the UFG docs and found nothing that says
"do this to view photos"???

on my palm E2 "desktop" there is a icon for "check mark &SI" a UFG
start and A big U,field guide.

they all do something when selected... is there one that is the
proper one to start the BNA app.
