Dear all,

The next meeting of the NLP Reading Group will take place on Tuesday (1.11) at 10:00 in room N207 in IMPAKT.

Michal Novák will present two papers:

CDLM: Cross-Document Language Modeling by Avi Caciularu et al.
and
QA-Align: Representing Cross-Text Content Overlap by Aligning Question-Answer Propositions by Daniela Brook Weiss et al.

Both papers focus on cross-document modelling. The CDLM paper approaches this objective by implicit means of cross-document language modelling, reusing long-range LMs. On the other hand, the QA-Align paper is aimed at modelling the relations between documents explicitly, in particular by aligning predicate-argument relations based on question-answer pairs, instead of using symbolic structures such as AMR. Whereas the former paper is more about modelling and NLP, the latter one focuses mostly on manual annotation. Due to the interests of the expected RG participants, we will likely concentrate more on the CDLM paper, but it may change if we attract some other people more interested in linguistic annotation.

You may skim the first paper before the meeting. There will be a possibility to join remotely through zoom. The meeting link is the same as the last time.

See you,
Tomasz
