Involvement Opportunities

1.Boston College Study Participation: We would like to invite you to participate in our study which focuses on Asian Indians' views about men and women, views about and experiences with gender and sexual violence, and about living in the United States.  I invite you to participate if you:

-          Are 18 years or older

-          Are of Asian Indian descent (either born in the U.S. or born outside the U.S.)

-          Are fluent in English (Survey is administered in English)

-          Currently live in the United States

Your participation in this study will involve the completion of several questionnaires related to background information, your perspectives about living in the United States and about men, women, and sexual violence.  These questionnaires can be completed online via Qualtrics and should take you about 20-25 minutes to complete.  At the end of your participation, you will be given the option to participate in a raffle for a $75 gift card to Amazon.com. If you are interested in participating in this study, you can access the survey at the following web address: https://bclynch.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_eFqn2yiprqkWh9iIf you have any questions concerning this research study, please contact me at tumm...@bc.edu or (617) 552-4491.

2. Florida Blue Key: Florida Blue Key is now accepting applications for the Fall 2013 Tapping Class! Recognized as the University of Florida’s oldest and most distinguished  leadership organization, Florida Blue Key plans and produces Homecoming, Gator Growl, and the Speech and Debate Tournament. In addition, Florida Blue Key conducts many other projects benefitting both the University of Florida and the Gainesville community. A successful applicant must demonstrate exemplary leadership and service to the University of Florida. Diversity of involvement is an important criterion for acceptance into Florida Blue Key, so involvement in one area of campus activity does not necessarily qualify an applicant for membership. Florida Blue Key selects leaders who have made a significant contribution to the overall development of student life at the University of Florida.

The following requirements are mandatory for all applicants:
  1. Be a current full-time undergraduate or graduate student at the University of Florida.
  2. Have completed sixty hours of college credits.
  3. Have participated and demonstrated leadership in extra-curricular activities at the University of Florida
  4. Have at least a 2.0 grade point average.
A complete application contains the following:
  • Resume with signed statement granting the Student Activities staff permission to certify GPA and hours
  • $50 Application Fee

Applications are due at 4PM on Tuesday, November 12th

Sample resumes and further application information can be found at http://fbk.org/members/prospective-taps/ or at the Florida Blue Key office, Reitz Union room 365. Applicants will be notified by mail of Florida Blue Key's decision.

“Being tapped into Florida Blue Key means you represent the apex of leadership and service at the University of Florida, which only a small fraction of students are able to achieve. Our members have continued their service to the University and state after graduation. We highly encourage students leaders—especially those dedicated to serving the University of Florida—to apply for tapping this semester, as we hope to have the most accomplished and diverse membership in our 90 year history.” – Brock Hankins, Florida Blue Key President.
