West Sumatra is one of the most beautiful areas of Indonesia. It is mountainous and divided by three valleys. There are lovely lakes and spectacular volcanoes. § Jam Gadang - Jam Gadang means big clock and it is. This 26 meter tall clock was built in 1826 as a present from the Dutch Queen to the city secretary, Rook Maker.
§ Gorges Sianok - the depth of 100 meters and 200 meters wide. Gorges Sianok is a fantastic valley.
§ Mentawai Island. – Mentawai Island is undoubtedly one of the most acclaimed surf destinations in the entire world. you will surf the most rich wave spot in the world. There are 19 top performance waves, 12 of them being classified as world class.
§ Air Manih beach - Pantai air manih (sweet water beach) is the beach famous with the legend of malin Kundang.
§ Padang beach - most of padang people spent their time with their family & friends in this beach; fishing, order pisang bakar and jagung bakar or just enjoy the view.
§ The Pagaruyyung palace - This is a replica of the original palace which was burnt down by the Dutch Colonial masters.
§ Harau valley - Along the road to Harau Valley is a lovely countryside. A waterfall, 150 meters high falls into a basin. The Harau Valley is a nature and wildlife reserve, where tapir, siamangs, boars, wild goats and tigers still roam.
§ Lake Maninjau - A spectacularly beautiful crater lake set in a ring of sharp cliffs.
§ Lake Singkarak - The largest lake in West Sumatra. Its cool weather and the beauty of Mount Singgalang provide perfect scenery to this 1000 hectare lake.
§ Lembah Anai - Anai Valley environment is admirable. Dense tropical forest is an impressive and protected forests.
§ Twins Lake – Also known as “lake diatas and lake dibawah” this is the most unique lake in west sumatera.
§ Sikuai Island - The area of the island is surrounded by green tropic tress and awesome blue sea with the white sand of edge. There are several green tiny islands and there, lies the beauty of sea garden for diving lovers.
§ And many other places to visit.
