Hello, everyone! I hope you all have an enjoyable weekend. Here is the list of events for the upcoming week.
1. CASA 5th GBM: Painting Our History One Stroke at a Time
Have you ever seen those amazing paintings with nothing but strokes of Chinese characters on them? How about the pretty lanterns that can light up the night sky? For our upcoming GBM, CASA is very excited to present to you the brief history of calligraphy and lantern decoration, two very important traditional arts in Chinese culture. The GBM will be followed by a calligraphy and lantern workshop hosted jointly by CASA and Theta Nu Xi Multicultural Sorority, Inc. We will teach you how to create calligraphy as well as decorate your (sky) lanterns which we will fly to the sky afterward. We hope you can join us for this creative workshop. See you there!

Florida Alternative Breaks Community Service Opportunity
"Are you passionate about social justice and want to make an impact in alocal community? Are you interested in meeting 13 other great people over one of your academic breaks?
Then Florida Alternative Breaks wants YOU as a participant for this year's upcoming service trips! Florida Alternative Breaks (FAB) offers the opportunity to do service in a location outside of Gainesville while learning about a particular issue in-depth and creating lasting friendships with your fellow trip members. Although participation in a FAB trip is very rewarding, it also requires commitment and dedication from all involved. Participants are required to attend regular trip meetings where they will get to know their fellow trip members, become educated about their issue, and help plan their trip. To sign-up for a trip you will need to attend the FAB Issue Fair on October 30th, 2013 at the Reitz Union Circle Drive Breezeway (by Wells Fargo) between 6-8pm. If interested in participating on one of our trips, you can attend our info session on October 24th at 7pm in the Reitz room 347 or email direct...@gamil.com to learn more!
