to UF Hybrid Rocket Team
Hi Rocket Team,
We'll be having a meeting tomorrow (Tuesday) at 7:20 in MAE-B229 where
we will start designing different aspects of the rocket. Make sure to
bring your laptops. As an entire team, we will write design matrices
of our two different flight options. Here's what each group will work
on:
Structures: 1)design matrices on payload landing options and body tube
materials, 2)Preliminary SolidWorks drawing of the rocket
Stability/Aero: 1)Work on existing Matlab code so that it can take all
the rocket components (nose cone, parachute, airframe, electronics
bay, payload, motor, fins, etc.) and calculate all significant rocket
parameters (C.P., C.G. C1, C2, IL, IR, ξ, ωn); 2)Work on Matlab code
to find optimum mass of the rocket given a drag constant and thrust
curve
Electronics/Avionics: 1)Specify the overall requirements and the
component requirements of the payload 2) continue with a 2nd and 3rd
payload design option 3) Start writing design matrices for the three
different design options
Propulsions: For now, since propulsions issues are not pressing, the
people in this group will just help with the other 3 groups. However,
we will have a workshop soon where we will show how to make igniters,
assemble motors, launch a motor, and run a motor test.
So just make sure you bring your laptop to this meeting. Hope to see
you all there!
