Hi Team!

I apologize for the delay in welcoming all of you to the UF Rocket
Team for the 2010-2011 school year. I have been hugely pleased with
the response that we have recieved following our presentation at the
AIAA meeting! We have more than fifty new members; which is more than
our total number of members from last year! This means that we have
huge potential this year to expand our horizons in research topics,
and become more competitive in all of our endeavors!

Unfortunately, we need to be somewhat patient regarding our first
general body meeting of the year. We still have not recieved word
from the scheduling committee in charge of delegating rooms for club
meetings. This means that we do not have a guaranteed room to meet in
yet, but I am hopeful that they will get back to us this week so we
can have our first full meeting next week! There are a huge number of
student groups here at the University of Florida, so the scheduling of
rooms is a full time job, and they are making sure they don't double
book rooms or times.

With that said, we have planned our hybrid basics workshop to be held
this coming Saturday in the early afternoon either at building MAE-A
or at our lab just off campus in the UF Solar Park. This will be a
great opportunity for all of the new and returning members to get
their feet wet, and get up to speed on the basic function and benefits
of hybrid rocket motors. Also we can discuss some potential research
opportunities that you all might be interested in. This workshop is
planned to be roughly an hour long, and everybody is encouraged to
attend. I will send a follow up message later this week to fill
everyone in on the exact details of the workshop.

Thank you to everyone for showing so much interest in rocketry, and
the practical application of your education! I hope to see everyone
on Saturday! Have a great week and GO GATORS!!!
