It’s a Happy Wednesday Green Teamers!
I wanted to send out two quick reminders about upcoming events for next week, both on Wednesday.
Of course, you know about One Less Car Day, and it is finally upon us! Show your support for all the various modes of transportation options in and around campus that help us achieve our carbon reduction goals by
signing
up today.
Join the UF Office of Sustainability on the Plaza of the Americas from 11AM-2PM next Wednesday, October 23,
for all kinds of fun, games, prizes, information, and yes, free t-shirts, for those who sign up to be One Less Car. We'll also be celebrating Campus Sustainability Day.
As mentioned at our last Green Team meeting, we will be running some workshops on how to make your next department or office event a more sustainable one. We’ve focused the first workshop also taking place next Wednesday, October 23 on student leaders, but anyone is welcome to attend. However, we’ve planned another workshop for November 21, which will be from 11AM-12:30 and target faculty and staff.
Please feel free to pass along the details of next week’s Sustainable Event Certification Program Workshop:
Are you a student leader? Does your organization host many events that you wish could be a little more sustainable? Then the Sustainable Event Certification Program is for you! This program is through the UF Office of Sustainability and consists of a short Sustainable Event Planning Guide and an easy application for certification. The idea is that any organization can host "green" events, no matter if the organization has a sustainability focus or not. To learn more about this program please come out to the Sustainable Event Certification Workshop on October 23rd at 5:15-6:30PM in Rinker Hall room 220.
Best,
-M
