[UF College Republicans]

Hi CRs,

 

For those who do not know me, my name is Micah Lutkowitz, and I am the Vice Chairman of CRs.  I would like to tell you about a Gators for Israel and Jewish Student initiative aimed at addressing the threat of a nuclear Iran through a student petition calling for stricter enforcement of sanctions against Iran.

 

All you have to do to electronically sign the petition is email UF.Iran....@gmail.com  from your UFL account. The electronic signature for this petition will close on Thursday December 2, 2010. The email must include the following: "I support the petition calling for stricter enforcement of CISADA, to ensure that Iran does not acquire a nuclear capability", your full name, and your UF ID number.

 

Just to give everyone some background information, Iran is the world’s leading state-sponsor of terrorism, developing a nuclear weapons program to destabilize the region and threaten the United States and our allies, and has threatened to wipe Israel off the map. 

 

Last June, the US Congress passed the Comprehensive Iran Sanctions, Accountability and Divestment Act of 2010 (CISADA) in an attempt to pressure Iran to end its nuclear weapons program.   The sanctions appear to be weakening the Iranian regime, but sanctions will not be entirely successful unless they are enforced effectively and immediately. 

 

I urge everyone in College Republicans to sign this petition because a nuclear Iran would pose a grave threat to America.
