عَنْ أَنَسٍ، *أَنَّهُ كَانَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَالِسًا وَرَجُلٌ يُصَلِّي، ثُمَّ دَعَا: «اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِأَنَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ الْمَنَّانُ بَدِيعُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ، يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ، يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ»، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَقَدْ دَعَا اللهَ بِاسْمِهِ الْعَظِيمِ الَّذِي إِذَا دُعِيَ بِهِ أَجَابَ، وَإِذَا سُئِلَ بِهِ أَعْطَى».*
Narrated Anasؓ ibn Malik that *he was sitting with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and a man was offering prayer. He (praying man) then made supplication _{Allahumma inni as’aluka bi-anna lakal-hamd, la ilaha illa Antal-Mannan, Badi-us-samawati wal-ard, ya Dhal-Jalali wal-Ikram, ya Hayyu ya Qayyum.}_ "O Allah, I ask You by virtue of the fact that all praise is Yours, there is no deity except You, the Bestower of Favours, the Originator of the heavens and the earth, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor, O Ever-Living, O Self-Sustaining Sustainer of all." The Prophet (ﷺ) then said: "He has supplicated Allah using His Greatest Name, when supplicated by this name, He answers, and when asked by this name He gives."*
حضرت انس رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے: *میں رسول اللہ صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم کے پاس بیٹھا ہوا تھا اور ایک آدمی نماز پڑھ رہا تھا؛ اس نے دعا کی، «اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِأَنَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ الْمَنَّانُ بَدِيعُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ، يَا ذَالْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ» "اے اللہ! میں تجھ سے سوال کرتا ہوں اس لئے کہ تیری ہی تعریف ہے، تیرے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں، تو بے انتہا احسان کرنے والا ہے، آسمان و زمین کو بے مادہ و بے نمونہ پیدا کرنے والا ہے، اے جلال و اکرام والے! اے زندہ! اے نگرانی کرنے والے!" تو نبی صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم نے فرمایا: "بےشک اس نے اللہ سے اس کے اس عظیم نام کے واسطے سے دعا کی ہے جس سے دعا کی جائے تو وہ قبول کرتا ہے، مانگا جائے تو دیتا ہے۔"*
_*(شارحین کے نزدیک اسمِ اعظم" محض ایک لفظ نہیں ہے، بلکہ اللہ تعالیٰ کو پکارنے کا وہ مخصوص انداز ہے جو اس کی وحدانیت، اس کی عظمت و بزرگی اور اس کی صفتِ حیات کو یکجا کر دیتا ہے۔ اس لئے دعا مانگتے وقت اللہ سبحانہ وتعالٰی کے ناموں اور صفات کا واسطہ دینا چاہئے۔ ان الفاظ کو یاد کر کے دعا مانگنے کا حصہ بنا لینا چاہئے۔ اللہ سبحانہ وتعالٰی عمل کی توفیق عطا فرمائے۔ آمین)
