Hi All -

Another update for everyone.  About a month ago, we formed a leadership team to help steer the team, knowing that I will have, essentially, no time to devote to team operations for next year. My new project is exciting, but all-consuming and not cycling focused. As with the group we have assembled over the years of career-driven professionals, it turns out no one else really has time to steer this either! And that is completely reasonable and understood. Without clear leadership options, despite our fantastic group and sponsors, it's best to put the team on hold for 2015.

I will keep the list serve going, so we can post group rides and banter, but won't hold formal operations for the year; no team registration, kit order, etc.  There are many excellent options for racing teams in the area to fill the need.  If anyone feels homeless, let me know and I can advise.

That said, thank you all for the awesome, amazing support of this group over the years!  I never set out with the intent to build a specific UE Cycling team but for the business to sponsor many teams in the area.  But it happened somewhat organically and brought together many like-minded people, and hopefully you all have made as many great memories and friendships as I have along the way! Thank you!

RC

Well it is unfortunate that the team is fading away.... Hopefully it is OK for me to offer an invite:

Any active or former US military members?  Come join me on the US Military Endurance Sports cycling team.  It is a nationwide team, open to current and former military only, with several members here locally. It is both an OBRA and USAC team. You can contact me directly or go to usmes.org for more info.

Thanks!!  See you out there....
Robert

Hey Russell,

It's been a really fun couple years with the UEF team and I've really enjoyed the whole experience.  Thank you for taking the time and putting out the effort to keep it all going!  We have had a great group of people and it's kind of sad to see everyone part ways, but that's the nature of the beast I guess.
On the other hand, it's a good year for me to cut back as I'm having my leg dissembled in April, so I don't know when I'll be back on form.  I may have to just spend the year coaching Marcroft on MTB racing.  I think with enough work, he could really be something someday.  Word has it that FSC Kenney even bought a fancy carbon mountain bike, so maybe I can give them a two for one discount ;)
Thanks for everything Russell!
Happy Holidays!
JP

Thank you Jeff!  You have provided fantastic comic relief, moral support, and even some descent race results to the team over the past few years!  We've been lucky to have you and the Hood River crew as part of the team, we really appreciate the support.  It sounds like you have your work cutout for you with the new Make-Marcroft-MTB challenge. Thanks again, Jeff!
