I am ordering carbon rims directly from China from Light-Bicycle.com. These guys make the rims for the Specialized's carbon Roval series. 

Nick Wood (Team Oregon) and I are putting together a group order to keep the shipping costs to a minimum.

NOTE: do NOT order the complete wheel sets. The Novatec hubs are crap and you will be changing bearings often especially for x-cross.

 If you want to replicate the Enve 3.4 set up with the 35mm front / 45 rear set up order the 'U-shaped' rims:

Jude from Sugar will build each wheel for $75 ($150/pair). You can build up the 35/45 clincher rims with White Industries hubs, Sapim X-Ray spokes and aluminium nipples (weight ~ 1400g) for about $1,150 or less.
