Hello all,
I hope everyone is doing well, and enjoying the start of summer.
Back in the winter I know I said we might start some training
outside in March or April. That obviously didn't work. However, we
are going to start some Feeding Crane group training next week.
We will be training alternate Tuesdays, from 6-7:30 PM. We will
be meeting at the Beaverbrook Reservation, in Belmont MA. Times
and location are in the Schedule section of the Kodokan Boston
website, here.
For the duration of the good weather, we will be remaining outside. That, and schedules of some of our members, are keeping our training early. I know this may be difficult for some people, and we will be looking at schedule again in the fall.
If you have not been training with Kodokan Boston during the
pandemic, here are our current training rules, particularly around
the continuing pandemic.
Happily the vaccination rate continues to pick up and that has
allowed us to start doing paired work again, which is fantastic!
However, while our rules are on the conservative side, please be
aware that many members have nu-vaccinated children, or family
members with compromised immune systems. Our rules are also
focused on the health of our members' families.
If you are not vaccinated you need to let us know and you will
not be able to do paired practice.
If you are not vaccinated you must wear a mask during training.
If you are vaccinated you may do any solo training mask-less.
Through the month of June we are maintaining masks for 2 person
body to body practice- applications, body conditioning,
sensitivity training, etc.. Assuming that case loads continue to
drop and vaccination rates to climb we are going to re-assess in
July and may stop requiring masks for any training at that time.
Any member is of course welcome to wear a mask if they prefer. Also, please bring a mask to training. If you are working with someone and would prefer they wear a mask, please feel free to ask. Anyone training in our group will be happy to wear one. Things have changed quickly over the last two months and our goal is to maintain the heath and safety of our group.
Please let me know if you have any questions. I look forward to seeing folks at training!
cheers,
Fred
