HL7 International has officially announced the second annual AI Challenge, inviting innovators worldwide to demonstrate how HL7 standards can power responsible, interoperable, real‑world AI solutions. This year’s Challenge builds on the strong momentum of 2025, where participants showcased creative, standards‑based approaches to improving clinical care, operations and research.

 

Key details:

• Submissions are now open
• Deadline: June 30, 2026
• Open to developers, startups, health systems, researchers, and students
• Winners will be recognized during the HL7 40th Annual Plenary & Working Group Meeting (Sept 21–25) in Rockville, MD
