------------------------------------------
Doctors for Global Health (DGH) is a not-for-profit organization whose
mission is to improve health and foster other human rights with those
most in need by accompanying communities, while educating and
inspiring others to action. DGH promotes health and human rights
throughout the world through long-term community partnerships and the
formation of effective solutions to social justice issues.
The distinguishing characteristic of DGH is not just the mission
statement but the unique way we carry out that mission. DGH recognizes that health is a human right and that the definition of health extends beyond the absence of disease. DGH understands that healing is interconnected with education, artistic expression, economic
well-being, environmental safety and so forth. Health is defined
broadly and is achieved through a multi-disciplinary and multi-faceted
approach.
