hello everyone,

i'm looking for a roommate for my n. oakland apt soon. can you please
distribute this widely among your friends with my email
(kkf...@gmail.com)? i've posted to craigslist but like the idea of
living with a friend more, or a friend of a friend, etc. also friend
rent rate is 650 but i'm listing it on craigslist for 700 so i'm not
deluged.

thank you kindly!

kirsten

what i wrote:

"i'll start with the details:

-59th & mlk, walking or biking to ashby, temescal neighborhood, easy fwy access
-lovely block, friendly neighbors
-$700 rent, shared pg&e, internet
-$500 deposit
-10x11 room with good light, but not much view
-upper unit of duplex c. 1908, with plenty of remaining charm
(built-ins), nice hardwood floors, big beautiful dining room, a shared
front office space, lots of house plants
-gated parking space, W&D
-one piano, no TV (prefer it that way)
-home to 1 very friendly extra-toed cat; would consider another cat
(or other small mammal) but no dogs
-large backyard, veggie garden and chickens
-also unused, somewhat downtrodden garage with potential for crafty
builder (woodshop? art studio?)

beyond details: i bought this home last fall and i'm slowly making it
nicer. it's pretty nice already. i've got big plans especially for
that backyard. i have 4 chickens and plans for a bigger coop, 1 raised
veggie bed and another on the way, and visions of impromptu summer
BBQs and maybe even some movies projected on the garage. i'm hoping
whoever else lives here will want to participate in all that, even if
it's in a limited way. i'd be happy if you have your own stuff going
on, but wouldn't want to live with a stranger. i'm excited about
sharing this space with someone else.

a little about me: sometimes i'm home a lot, sometimes i'm a gone a
lot. i'm 32; i work part-time as a nurse and i'm in grad school to
become an NP, and then i've got this house i'm working on."

Kirsten,

There is a facebook page called Bay Area Room Rentals or something like that.  It gets a lot of activity, so I would try there too.  I'll put the word out as well.
