Hey All-
I went to a talk last night on the new law that mandates all female patients to be notified of their breast density after screening mammography. Apparently there are four levels of density and women in the two categories of highest density will now be informed that their breasts are dense and the complications this will present for mammogram reading, breast cancer risk, etc. Clearly I don't understand it all that well, even after attending the talk.
Anyway, about 40% of women fall into theses categories so lots of patients are gonna be notified. I've attached an algorithm for clinicians to use to guide us on what to do with these pt's. If you want more info let me know. Pretty hard to sound coherent on email..
