The Ride to Conquer Cancer is a unique, two-day cycling event taking place on September 13th and 14th 2014. During this bold cycling journey, riders will cycle over 150 miles through the National Capital Region. The Ride is an epic journey to help fund cancer research and care at Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center, Sibley Memorial and Suburban Hospitals.
In order to make the Ride successful, we need people to donate their time before, during, and after the event. There are actually two ways to get involved on event weekend. You can sign-up as a Volunteer or register as a Crew Member. Here are the differences between them:
• Shorter shifts to fit into your schedule before the event (Friday), at the Opening Ceremonies (Saturday), the Finish line (Sunday), or Camp (Saturday & Sunday).
• Earn volunteer hours and event experience while having a blast!
• Enjoy free snacks, Gatorade and water.
• No registration fee, join for free.
• Choose from crucial teams that make this event happen!
• Crew commit to being present for the entire event from early Saturday morning to end of day Sunday, with a crew meeting Friday evening before the event.
• Stay overnight and experience the excitement at Camp! You can even share a tent with a friend or family member who is riding.
• We provide all meals and transportation for you throughout the entire weekend.
• Crew have free access to all services at camp (massages, yoga, etc.).
• Crew members are official event participants - they pay the $50 registration fee and receive the same support and perks as participants.
