Updates & Friday Night Concert (tomorrow)

Hello all!

Apologies for those receiving this email twice. We'll be cross-posting on both the old and new listserv for the next couple months. Don't forget to join the new listserv here if you haven't already done so!

Thank you for joining the new listserv for UCSD alumni in the Washington, DC area. If you know if other alumni in the area, shoot their email to us or invite them directly to join this listserv! This email summarizes some updates for the organization and includes some details about upcoming events.

1. Club Leaders

The second round of elections occurred last month resulting in the addition of three individuals. We're still recruiting for a Community Service Chair if anyone is interested! We're looking for more non-leadership volunteers to join the team as well for monthly planning meeting. Email ucsdal...@gmail.com for more information. Below is the current leadership team.

2. Friday Night Concert TOMORROW

Join us tomorrow, June 9, for a free concert at Yards Park! Local DC-area cover band, Jeff from Accounting, is playing. Food and beverages are available to purchase there, but bringing some snacks as well as a blanket to sit on are a good idea. Look for the UC San Diego banner to spot us. We'll post to the Facebook event once we know where we're sitting. See you soon!

• Time: 6:30-8:30pm
• Location: The Yards Park (355 Water St SE) - Navy Yard is the closest Metro stop
• Bring some snacks and a blanket

3. All UC Nats vs. Giants Game

Mingle with alumni from all UC campuses at the Nationals vs. Giants game. We've reserved a portion of Section 238 just for us. There will be a pre-game happy hour at Scarlet Oak nearby before heading over to the stadium for the main event. 

• What: Pre-game Happy Hour
• Date: Saturday, August 12, 2017
• Time: 4-7pm
  
• Location: Scarlet Oak (909 New Jersey Avenue, SE, Washington, D.C. 20003)
  
• We'll have the indoor high-top area across from the bar AND the bar side patio (weather permitting). $8 hour wines and $6 draft beers!

• What: ALL UC Nationals v. Giants Game
  
• Date: Saturday, August 12, 2017
  
• Time: 7:05pm game start
  
• Location: Nationals Stadium (1500 S Capitol St SE) - Navy Yard is the closest Metro stop
