Hello! I am pleased to announce that Stevenson College and the Environmental Studies Department will be offering internship opportunities this Spring Quarter for the Stevenson Garden.
The Stevenson Garden is the first college-specific garden on the East side of campus. Supported by students from all over campus and the staff and faculty at Stevenson, the garden is looking to take on 2-3 garden coordinators to keep the garden thriving.
Interns will be responsible for:
- General management of the Stevenson Garden -- including oversight of the recently approved garden expansion
- Attending Gardener’s Alliance Gatherings and representing the Stevenson Garden’s voice in the campus-wide garden community
- Attending “Path To A Greener Stevenson” (PTAGS) meetings to keep student input flowing into the garden.
- Supervise work hours at the garden site every week.
- Coordinate with PTAGS, the other coordinator and the Garden Core
Ideal interns will have:
- Horticultural experience
- Strong leadership qualities
- Ability to work independently
- Professional communication and organization skills
- A strong passion for growing food and communities
- A love to get their hands dirty and work in the earth
2-credit and 5-credits options available.
Note: 5-credit upper division options need Environmental Studies advisor.
