Subject: Possible work with FSH kids with Gardener's Alliance?
To: dtte...@ucsc.edu

Hi Dominique! My name is Jen Simington--last year I was one of the garden coordinators for the Family Student Housing garden. I'm an RA here at Family Student Housing, and this year we're trying to put together a group of kids who are interested in becoming more involved in community activism.

I'm hoping that a few people from the Gardener's Alliance might be interested in coming to one of our meetings, maybe giving a presentation on the importance of gardening/organic gardening/eating local/keeping open spaces (it could go in a lot of directions). Then we could work with the kids on a project, like making seed bombs (those mixtures of seeds and clay that you can then toss in untended areas to grow wildflowers).

Please give me a call--I'm very excited to get started, and I hope all's well!
