When analyzing TCGA data, LTBP1 expression appears to be downregulated in tumor tissues compared to normal tissues. However, survival analysis shows that high LTBP1 expression is associated with worse prognosis. Isn’t this contradictory? If high expression leads to poor prognosis, wouldn’t we expect LTBP1 to be upregulated in tumors?

Hi Useyma,

While I do verify that the graphs you created are accurate given the underlying data, we are not funded to advise on biological interpretation. You are welcome to download the data used to create each of the graphs to independently verify the data (https://ucsc-xena.gitbook.io/project/overview-of-features/download-data and https://ucsc-xena.gitbook.io/project/overview-of-features/kaplan-meier-plots#download).

Apologies I can't be of more assistance.

Best,
Mary
