There are also currently a massive series of talks on-going as part of the CS department's faculty hiring drive (up to 30 candidates giving talks, we are about half way through), many of which are focused on some aspect of machine learning and/or data science. They are announced a couple of days in advance on the CS website, look for "Computer Science Department Presents:" in the event list. E.g., there is a talk tomorrow on differential privacy with applications for p-hacking in academia.
