KBC QUESTIONS

In an episode of “Kaun Banega Crorepati- KBC on Sony TV telecasted on the night of 23rd Nov., 2012, a question relating to our Bank was asked. Question was about the name of the founder of the Bank – “In 1943, which industrialist established the United Commercial Bank, now known as UCO Bank.” Person on the hot seat was to pick up the right answer from the 04 options.
After the question was over, Sh. Amitabh Bachhan, anchor of the programme gave a brief on our Bank – it was established as The United Commercial Bank Ltd. in 1943; founder was Sh. Ghanshyam Dass Birla; it was nationalized in 1969 and its name was changed to the present name UCO Bank in 1985.
As the viewership of the KBC is very high, the question relating to our Bank has given us good publicity.
