Can you list some reasons why memo pads are created.
Any one please answer my other questions also.

We use bookmarks while reading a book and when we want to read the book later we put that bookmark on that page. Memo pad is just like a bookmark. It can be visited through ctrl+f9. If memopad is created by the system, you cannot remove it. If any user have created any bookmark, that can be modified/removed.

Actually max memo pad are coming due to migration fault and while using ^F9 it shows blank

its both way can be created manually and system also create if there is some exception.it may be financial and nonfinancial.we can create memopad by control+f9 with add fn as we see with inquire-I .for delete fn -D .For example we have not taken photo but open the a/c ,there we can create memopad taking the exact reason that photo required.but thing is when other user make transaction in the same a/c they should see it take action, not F4 F10

Memo Pad is a memorandum created by Finacle system for the previously existing unverified Non-
Financial Txn entries. To see the details of the memo pad, press Ctrl+F9 when the alert
message appears on the screen. Verify the unverified Non-Financial Txn and if it is not
possible at your end, then make a HP Call Lodge and get it rectified.

You are right. But my account is existing before migration, after migration no such exception was showing. Suddenly one day while passing a cheque  the exception encountered, i.e "memo pad exists"

There are many alert about memo pad which shows blank  value after pressing ^F9. These memo pad are not created by anyone and these memo pad are migration fault.

1.system created memo pad cannot be deleted. we need help of data centre to delete.

2.memo pad can be created in Ctrl+f9 by writing in the field as book mark as replied by Sanjeev.

Thanks for all your prompt response friends. As rishi sir has rightly said, when it shows 'memo pad exist' and when we press ctrl+F9, it shows blank screen. Then how will i find the reason of memo pad.

I have also seen accounts where "memo pad exists" is displayed when we want to see through ctrl+f9 nothing is displayed.

MEMO PAD has nothing to do with MIGRATION.  During Migration Memo Pads are not created by the person who is migrating.  It is the functionality of Finacle.

Memo Pad is a sort of reminder to the user to carry out certain operation in the account.  Memo Pad is created by the USER as well as by SYSTEM 

Its is Exception "GXY MEMO PAD EXISTS" parameterised in GSPM - General Details

Can be viewed by pressing CTRL+F9 in ACM / ACI option

BY SYSTEM : 

1. When Customer Master is modified, memo pad entry is created for each record that is modified and the entry is associated with the Customer Id.

2.  When an Account Master record is modified, memo pad entry is created for each record modified and the entry is associated with the Account Number

3. The entries are automatically deleted once the modifications are verified

4. System creates a memo pad to indicate/ remind the user that certain operation/process on the account is pending, System creates a memo pad immediately after the entry of stop payment instructions, user would be reminded by way of memo pad during further operations especially during  all financial transactions.  

5. Once the verification is over, the memo pad automatically gets deleted.

BY USER   : 

1. If you are in the process of opening an account and certain documents have to be supplied by the customer subsequently, you can create a memo text listing the documents, and  associate the text with the Account ID and Intent of 'follow up'

   

2 . In Standing Instruction "Create Memo Pad Entry" is whether a memo pad is required to be created till the transaction is posted or not The memo pad is created at the time of execution and is deleted as a part of EOD operations.

3. While making a memo pad entry, you can enter the date so that the memo pad can be viewed on the specified date.

Each memo pad entry can have one of the following security codes associated with it.

O - Private (the entry can be modified, deleted or retrieved only by the person who has created that entry)

P - Public (the entry can be modified, deleted or retrieved by anyone)

S - Semi Public (the entry can retrieved by anyone, but only the Owner can modify or delete the entry)
