UCLUggers,

I happened upon this video earlier today. It's a system setup and product review of LinuxFX 11 by eBuzzCentral. In that video, he speaks to the same issue that I had which is why it is that this Brazilian-based Linux distro can charge its customers $35 to activate a product which should be open source. Some may say that the $35 isn't for the OS, but for some of the features made available natively, including access to the Microsoft Office Suite of apps & the ability to double-click on .exe and .msi files and have them install just as they do in Windows. However, upon closer inspection, the MS Office Suite of applications provided out of the box are online apps available via any Linux distro via a Web browser (and requiring a Microsoft account) and, as you shall see in the video, the attempt to run two rather simple Windows executable files fails. Some people apparently have paid their $35 for the full version of LinuxFX 11 with all the "bells and whistles" and have never received a product key that makes them available.

Caveat emptor!

LinuxFX 11 developers responded to eBuzzCentral's original video presentation where he expressed his concerns over what the LinuxFX 11 developers are doing to Linux users and those individuals coming over from Windows to Linux and quite possibly returning to Windows with a bad "Linux taste" in their mouths.

I totally agree with where eBuzzCentral is coming from and think that his expression of concerns with the practices of the LinuxFX 11 developers is warranted.
