Hey Everybody!

Our company, Sigma5C, has been preparing to go live, we host are own servers and many of the machines are running Ubuntu OS. Ubuntu is one of the first distros many new Linux users try out so I though it would be nice to share a prep guide to help get rid of pesky vendor telemetry and uncontrolled outbound connections.

I have included a doc that was prepared by Claude Code that covers some of the main things we have done. I would love to hear from everybody about their own experiences with Ubuntu and also any suggestions this doc does not cover.

Thanks and enjoy!

Monty,
For me .md files are a struggle to enjoy.  why not something more
readable like "What's whoopsie?":
https://askubuntu.com/questions/135540/what-is-the-whoopsie-process-and-how-can-i-remove-it

#2 Need some set commands, right?

gsettings set org.gnome.system.location enabled false
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.privacy report-technical-problems false
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.privacy send-software-usage-stats false
