Hi Jas,

Not sure I'm up to giving this presentation over again live as it wore me out when I presented in August to the WNCLUG-Asheville folks.  I'm turning 71 this year. The link to the presentation can be found here.

I will try to remember to join the UCLUG meeting tomorrow night at 6:30 for the presentation which looked interesting.

Hope to see you then.

Hey, Dan, good to hear from you!

Right now, UCLUG is booked for Sept and Oct, but we don't have Nov yet.

I would love to have the topic of Docker/Docker Compose, but would
prefer an actual, live presentation over a playback. The way I figure
it, the live interaction can enhance and change the direction of a
presentation in wonderful ways. If you'd prefer to only have a video
playback, you could send a link (if there is one available) to the
mailing list, and we could start a discussion thread that way.

In the past, I have given the same UCLUG presentation to a classroom
or as a trial-run for a conference, and one enhances the other because
of the different audience. As another example, a couple months ago we
had a presentation on RegEx that I know will be given to the DEFCON
864 security group, and even though the same person will be giving the
same talk with the same slides (probably), it will be different,
because this Linux group has a different reason for learning RegEx
than a Cybersecurity group does.

CC'ing Ben of ColaLUG so he knows about the possibility of a Nov topic.

I certainly understand it wearing you out! I get really exhausted
each month after UCLUG, and I'm just the emcee! :^)

Would you be interested in breaking it up into 2 or 3 smaller parts,
spread over several meetings? I can do the deep voice-over, "Last
time, at UCLUG...!" :^)

(As I re-read this email response, I start the YouTube video, and you
start off talking about it being in 3 parts at the beginning of the
video. What a coincidence! Wow, 1.5 hours, no wonder it wore you
out!)

Great, looking forward to seeing you tonight! I saw tonight's guy's
presentation several months ago when he was talking to the security
club, DC864. It was a "lessons learned" sort of thing, so I thought
it would translate well to UCLUG. And maybe some of us old-timers
would enjoy the nostalgia of the topic of a MUD.

Thanks, Jas. Let me think about it. I'll see you tonight.

Take care,
