Dear Original Makespacers.

Thankyou for expressing an interest in being our guinea pigs for the workshop inductions.

We are postponing the test inductions until Tuesday April 23rd - sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused, I realise you booked out this friday afternoon.

From Friday 15th March, (the grand opening!) all UCL students and staff will be able to sign up on our website via the new Members page. This is how the process works:

• Sign up online
• Book onto Library induction
• Attend library induction
• Your card will then be enabled for the space, you can access the library, and use the common areas for materials and making research during open hours. You can also access the members area on the website.
• Sign up for MakeSpace Induction
• Attend MakeSpace induction
• You can then use the workshop and basic workshop tools during open access hours, and you can book onto introductory sessions for specific tools like laser cutter, 3d printer and wood lathe
• Attend tool-specific inductions
• You will then be able to book specific machines online, or via our Technician.

I have booked you all on to the test Library Induction at 11am, Tuesday 23rd April, and the MakeSpace induction at 2pm the same day, so you'll be the first to attend, and (if you can make both sessions), our first fully-fledged Members. If you can't make this date, please book on to the next available library induction in order to activate your card. I'll send a reminder as soon as the new website goes live. You will need to attend the 1st to do the 2nd.

Membership will be free of charge over the summer term while we work though new systems. From September, annual Membership fees will apply.

Hope this is clear, we'll be asking for feedback after the inductions so please keep a note of how you found the experience. Much more info will be available by next week's launch...
