Dear all,
Hope you've enjoyed the events we've run so far this term. Next week we'll be doing something more on the electronics/intangibles side, as Dr Benn Thomsen from Electronic & Electrical Engineering takes us through how to combine a webcam, servo and some code to make a webcam track objects based on their colour - and turn to follow them.
End result, something like this:

We'll provide cams and servos, but you'll need to bring a laptop for this one (Benn is just choosing his preferred software, we'll let you know what you need). See you on the 18th - 6pm, Room 422 Roberts.

PS. No, this is not the robots thing that was planned: although since robots are very fuzzily defined (as observing the environment and acting in response to decisions based on that) technically it is still a robot. If people want more microcontroller things, consider that for the community-led sessions..
