Next week UCL Makespace goes large, as the Institute of Making officially arrive at UCL. We've got activities every day for a week, in the MakeShed outside in the South Quad (the bit where the Print Room Cafe is). Drop in any lunchtime and try your hand at whatever we're doing - as a break from revision, purchase orders, feeding zebrafish, invigilating, or whatever.

The schedule currently:

Monday 16th: Ice-cream making with liquid nitrogen

Tuesday 17th: Hot Stuff – Pewter casting

Wednesday 18th: Chocolate tempering and manufacture

Thursday 19th: Things with strings (where strings have a width << length): Chainmail and knitting

Friday 20th: Spoon carving

All welcome, bring friends! If you're not back for MakeWeek, don't worry - we'll be continuing our Wednesdays until the end of term. And feel free to suggest topics for it, or run a class yourself!

http://www.engineering.ucl.ac.uk/blog/events/makeweek/ is the handy link to show people what's going on and find updates (and indeed, other UCL Engineering events are listed there too).

See you there, Makers!

Kate, UCL Engineering comms manager/punkin' instigator
