On the right to housing and land

The President of Habitat International Coalition (HIC), Davinder
Lamba, would like to contribute to this forum by sharing with you a
poem he wrote on the occasion of Housing and Land Rights Day.

"Human dignity depends on human well-being and other things

Human well-being depends on housing and other things

Housing depends on land and other things


Therefore, human well-being depends on the housing and land duo and
other things

And, human dignity depends on the human well-being, housing and land
trio and other things


Human dignity is recognized as the juridical, philosophical basis of
all human rights:

Civil, Political, Economic, Social and Cultural

Therefore, the human well-being, housing and land trio is integral to
all human rights


The Campaign for the Right to the City shall not relent until

Everywhere the many rather than the few have places to live

That are conducive to human dignity and human rights and


One more thing lest we forget

A social order that sustains spaceship Earth"
