Dear all
This Friday, London National Campaign Against Fees and Cuts (NCAFC) hosts David Florez, activist from National University in Bogotá.
I have been asked to see if any Spanish speakers would be able to translate for David, or able to help subtitle a 25 minute video on the Colombian student protests. Please email me back if you can: edwinclif...@live.com
David Florez, 25, is is studying a master's degree in law at the
National University in Bogotá, Colombia, and is part of the Federation
of University Students.
Florez was involved in the creation of
the Federation of University Students, who led the National
Comprehensive Student Table (MANE) student protests that toppled the
education reforms led by the Santos government in 2011.
Although Florez has received death threats, he continues to organize the
Colombian student movement. He is leading currently a national
university strike against cuts in the education budget.
The
London section of the National Campaign Against Fees and Cuts is hosting
our comrade from Colombia to hear an account of the struggle to defend
public education in Colombia, develop further links with Colombian
student activists and share lessons and experiences in our ongoing
fights.
