Rid Meeting Nov 10 at 5 in 3rd floor lounge

RIDers,

Yesterday, the RID group had its second meeting.  Being that the group is nascent the meeting was mainly devoted to organizational items, such as the constitution, registration of the group with the University, and elections.

The group has been officially registered with the university, we are currently in the process of getting a university email address and website.  The constitution is in the final stages of development.  We are in the process of making it viewable from the RID Google Group.

We are looking to elect leaders for the group.  We determined that it would be best to have two Co-Chairs (instead of a President and Vicepresident), a treasurer, a secretary, and a public relations (this may end up being incorporated into the other positions).

Current nominees are:

Co-Chair 1- Ramiro Rios

Co-Chair 2 - Jacob Veverka

Treasurer - Ruby Horta

Secretary - ?????? (Mathew Palmer was proposed)

Public Relations

Please direct all other nominees to the google group email address, ucla...@googlegroups.com, by this Friday. We will vote if positions have more than one nominee next Monday (by internet).

Our next meeting will be November 10th at 5pm in the 3rd Floor Lounge in the Public Affairs Building. We will be discussing on activities and roles of the RID group. Please bring a list of 3 or 4 items that you would like the group to incorporate. Also think of overseas connections you may have and potential event opportunities.

Me too... I support the nominees.  I'm also happy to contribute whatever else neccessary, and regret my attendance at the meetings so far (I'm 0 for 2 I believe), but Jacob and Ramiro have given me updates, and I'm going to try and glue a reminder to my head for the Nov 10 meeting.
