Interested in attending Commencement this Saturday? Our keynote
speaker will be Art Winkleblack, an alumnus of the UCLA Department of
Economics and Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of
the H. J. Heinz Company. We need 5 volunteers to help this Saturday
from 4:00-5:30pm. Please email kd...@career.ucla.edu if you are
interested in volunteering. Each volunteer will receive one ticket to
commencement.

Here is Art’s bio: Art Winkleblack is the Executive Vice President &
Chief Financial Officer of the H. J. Heinz Company, one of the world’s
leading purveyors of nutritional foods. With almost $11 billion in
annual sales worldwide, Heinz operates in the three core categories of
condiments & sauces, infant nutrition and meals & snacks. The Heinz®
brand enjoys international renown and accounts for more than $4
billion in annual sales. With more than 60% of total sales outside of
the United States, and 20% of sales coming from emerging markets,
Heinz is truly a global company. Art joined Heinz in January of
2002. Prior to that, he worked in private equity, holding finance,
strategy and operating roles affiliated with Boston Ventures, Hicks,
Muse Tate and Furst, and Indigo Capital. This followed almost 15
years of large-company experience with PepsiCo and AlliedSignal. Art
earned his undergraduate degree in Business Economics from UCLA and
his MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He
is a member of the Board of Directors of Church & Dwight, Inc. of
Princeton, NJ, and the Extra Mile Foundation in Pittsburgh, PA. Art
and his wife, Barbara, (who also graduated from UCLA) have two
daughters, and live in Sewickley Heights, Pennsylvania.
