Hello Tia, Danielle, and Calvin;
Greetings from fellow Consortium Fellows. My name is Raïssa Tona, a Tuck 2010 graduate. I am reaching out because Wale Ayeni (Tuck 2011) and I are co-founders of an exciting app called MELD, a startup that has developed a dating app geared towards single African American professionals; www.meld-app.com. We are reaching out to fellow Consortium members to help us spread the word about MELD.
The vision and the goal of MELD is to connect and to bring together sophisticated, cultured, and single black professionals on one platform. Imagine a mobile platform where single members of professional organizations such as Consortium members, National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA), National Bar Association (NBA), National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), National Medical Association (NMA), and others come to MELD, to connect. We want to build something that is great and unique to single African American professionals.
Because of our target audience, we plan to be super selective as we build the network, hence going with a “high-touch” approach where we selectively recruit members. We think that incoming Anderson Consortium members as well as first and second year Black MBA students are our ideal audience and we would like to send them an announcement about the app.
We are also reaching out because we would love to promote MELD at OP to other Consortium members because we really think that MELD is a unique way to bring together like-minded folks who want to connect. We all know that first year is so busy and leaves little time to build and to nourish relationships. We see MELD as a tool that can ease that process since it is a mobile platform. Are there some social events at OP where we can promote MELD to a bigger audience?
Also would be it be feasible for you to send an announcement to OP members, Black MBA students, your networks of single African American Professionals on our behalf announcing MELD - Below is the suggested content to send.
We thank you so much for helping us out and we look forward to hearing from you.
