AASM Members,
As a celebration of Black History Month, the AASM will be sponsoring a lunch in the courtyard of Anderson on Tuesday, February 19th at 11:30-12:30. We will be serving soul food from Uncle Darrow's Cajun and Creole Restaurant in Marina Del Rey. We were originally hoping to put together an Anderson Afternoons event, but all February dates had alreaedy been booked. Having a lunch will help include more people anyway, as we want to educate folks on what Black History Month stands for.
It is our intention to have AASM members help serve the food on Tuesday. It is during lunch so most people should be available to help set up and serve. We are doing this event in coordination with the Student Affairs office, as they have generously offered to pay for the food and helped organize tabling for the event. We could really use everyone's help in putting on a successful event.
We could also use some help in picking up the food, picking up drinks. We would like everyone available to help clean up afterwards.
Please let either Jennifer or myself know if you are able to help serve or if you can help with any of the other tasks. Thank you.
Regards,
Alex and Jenni
