Chaitanya is right. The UC Student id is the official student id
number of a student at the university. All your records would be
maintained under that. O mean your grades, Its like a roll no or a id
for you. It would be given as a id card to every student and is
required while registering for courses and all other academic
activities.
Yes, I too ordered my I 20 using eshipglobal and the important field
in it was this UC student Id no. I too used it to order my I 20 using
DHLservice. The student ID no is of the format MXX-XX-XXXX.

Imp: Your social security number is the number that came with your
admission offer letter. Check that pdf. There is a number below your
address line on the document which is a temporary Social security
number. There are a lot of forms that ask for the last 4 digits of that
number.
Keep a track of that too.
You dont require to call them. Dont worry. Follow these steps.
1)
http://www.onestop.uc.edu/
Go to the link above.
2)On left side there is a link called "Get my UCID" under My
information.
3)Click on it and login using your central login. (student id given to
you by UC in your email) and password that you changed or if not,
whose format is mentioned on the login page.
If you forgot your password too you can get it changed by answering a
question and getting a new password emailed to your regular email
account. Also you can email to ISSO and they are pretty quick in
replying too. I got mine through the above link as well as by sending
an email to ISSO. They replied that very night.
Its better to keep your student Id number with you.
Karthik.
