Introduction:
The FIDIC contracts are truly global and are widely used in Asia,
including South East Asia. They have been translated into scoresof
language and used on thousands of projects worldwide. The FIDIC
Design-Build Yellow Book and EPC Turnkey Silver Book are,
increasingly, the contract of choice for delivery of infrastructure,
oil and gas and other projects in South East Asia.
In this two day seminar we focus on the FIDIC Design-Build Yellow
Book and the Silver EPC/Turnkey Contract. Under both of these
contracts the contractor carries the design responsibility but the
contracts allocate risk very differently.

MS. GIOVANNA FENSTER
BA, LLB degree from Wits and an LLM (cum laude) from RAU, second
LLM in advanced contract law from Wits,MA from the Victoria
University, Wellington.
Gigi Fenster trained studied law in South Africa and has
worked with the construction industry for some 25 years. In this
time she has presented hundreds of workshops, has advised
governments and private sector organisations and has consulted to
both contractors and owners. Gigi was founder member of South
Africa’s Construction Industry Development Board and was a board
member of the Association of Arbitrators, Southern Africa. She is an
associate member of the Arbitrators’ and Mediators’ Institute, New
Zealand.
