Summer 2017 Reunion postponed

Hi all,
I have been monitoring the searing 90-100+ temperature in Davis!
I have talked to a few people and we all feel it's going to be too hot to have a picnic and campus tour in Aug. A few of you had warned us of the extreme Davis summer heat but the excitement of having an overdue reunion in Davis had overshadowed this concern when we were planning for it during spring's pleasant weather😂. I propose that we postpone this reunion for now.
What do you think?
Besides, the response to the reunion has been pretty lackluster. We're missing a lot of "famous" alumni on the sign up list.
Regardless, I'm still going to be in Davis Aug 25-27 and would love to have a mini reunion with the local alumni for dinner on Sat 8/26. Please let us know if any of you can make it. Looking forward to seeing some of you in a month.

Hi Thanh,

The heat can be extreme in Davis, but I suspect the 2+ hours drive also deter people from signing up.  We're getting older and not as resilient as we use to be.  I appreciate you taking the time to plan the reunion.  We'll meet you in Davis for Dinner.  My car have room for 2 more passengers if anyone wants to carpool.

Agree with Mai-Ly.  It would take old Nguyen from San Jose at least a full day and another full day to recuperate.  Loved ones would then complain why the old man couldn't mow the lawns, clean the house, wash the dog, etc., for the whole 2-day weekend :)

Sorry Thanh, we really wanted to see everyone but it looks like the heat is problematic to have a picnic in Davis.  I can't remember it was that hot as it is now, maybe it has to do with our age.
